WHERE DID THE NAME GARAGE COME FROM?

Although UK Garage kicked off in the 90's we need to slide back to 1970's New York where a DJ named Larry Levan played a mix of Disco and Soul at the Paradise Garage Club and there, Garage was born. Garage's well known sister genre found it's name in a similar vein, where the unique beats played at the Warehouse in Chicago became known as warehouse music which was then shortened to House music!
UK Garage, as with all music, was forged through a variation of music styles and the culture at the time, and became a worldwide phenomenon from Canada to Croatia.
